Australian Mobile Web Usage up 83.9% in 2011

According to Nielsen Online Ratings, the number of Australian users accessing the web from a smartphone each day is up from below 300,000 at the end of 2010 to over 500,000 today.  That’s an increase in daily unique browsers by 83.9 per cent over 2011.

“What we find is that when people own smartphones, be they iPhones or Android devices, they will use theinternet on their mobile a lot more,” said Matt Bruce, Nielsen managing director for media audience measurement.
